im a hugeeeeeee fan of tastespotting.com

at one glance u can see many many pretty food pictures.. and those will lead you to small personal food blogs that are sometimes very interesting to read..

anyway as much as im into cooking and viewing recipes. i rarely cook. i rely on Nissin most of the time to get through my hungry moments.

i think the most deterring factor about cooking is not really the hassle. not really the time. not really the grocery shopping (omg thats like my fav part). not really about the cleaning part (somehow but not the MOST impt factor).

BUT.

about the ingredients.

Im not even talking about foreign recipes where theres ingredients almost impossible to find. im talking about ingredients that can easily be bought from the supermarket.

ok what i really mean is. the left over ingredients. they will always be in weird proportions and never just right to make the things u want (unless ure talking about read to make mixes or frozen food). not just that. different expiry dates. then your kitchen will be more and more cluttered with ingredients that might expire soon or already expired and u need to buy other ingredients just to finish using them up and then it goes round and round in a vicious cycle.

and yes this brings me on to an idea.

imagine having some cool gadget (perhaps part of your fridge or somewhere in your kitchen) that somehow registers all the items u have in your fridge including the expiry date + the quantity. maybe it could be a scanner or or weighing machine look alike thing. or maybe just a high-tech kitchen.

imagine having that gadget.

imagine that it links up to all the recipes online.

imagine that it can automatically generate a list of recipes for u with the ingredients/cooking equipments u currently have in your house, according to your search preference, e.g. top priority is - FAST (under 10mins), or.. CLEAR EXPIRING FOOD ASAP. etc.

imagine that it can store what are the kinda food your family like and create a smart list of similar new dishes.

imagine that device actually tells you where is everything.

imagine that devices reminds u when the ingredients will expire.

yah im that imaginative.

but if one day this comes true please give me some credits.
